NOTICE! At this time, the Provincial Health Officer has urged all British Columbians to press pause on non-essential travel outside of your community. Measures will continue to be assessed between now and December 7th.

With the many uncertainties surrounding COVID-19 we want our guests to be assured we are closely monitoring the BC Centre for Disease Control, the Ministry of Health, Provincial Health Officer, and the World Health Organization’s statements, and are following recommendations and regulations set forth from each of these agencies.

As we welcome travelers, we understand the importance and peace of mind each of our guests need to feel during these times. We can promise you as a valued guest, your safety and security is our highest priority.

1. What protective or preventative measures are in place at the Penticton Lakeside Resort & Conference Centre for guests?
The Resort has increased precautionary measures including the following:

  • Heightened sanitizing attention and frequency to common areas and high touch point areas including; key cards, public area computers, elevator doors and buttons, all door and patio handles, locks and latches, light switches, desk surfaces, telephones, bathroom fixtures, and all other areas that may come into direct human contact.
  • All guests and staff are required to wear facemasks in common areas. In restaurants, facemasks may be removed when seated for eating and drinking.
  • In-room housekeeping service is optional. All of our room attendants are required to wear proper PPE to ensure the safety of everyone. Guests must vacate the room prior to staff entering and may re-enter once staff has properly cleaned and sanitized the room and has vacated. For those guests that do not desire in-room cleaning, our team is happy to deliver to your room upon request, fresh linens, towels, or other amenities you require during your stay.
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the resort.
  • Implemented social distance measures at check-in, for room-service delivery, and throughout the resort.
  • The use of products from EnviroOx, a combined sanitizer and virucide that kills 99.99% of surface bacteria and viruses.
  • Resort management is keeping apprised of the developing situation (including monitoring notices from WHO, the CDC, and the BCCDC) and providing regular updates and policy revisions to all staff.
  • Reminder signage in all restrooms and back-of-house departments sharing instructions to wash hands frequently.

2. Are facemasks required at the Resort?

  • In accordance with the most recent health order, facemasks are now required for everyone in all public common areas and workplaces.
  • People who cannot put on or remove a mask on their own are exempt.
  • Masks for children age 2 and under is not recommended.

3. What protective or preventative measures are in place at the Penticton Lakeside Resort & Conference Centre for staff?

  • If feeling unwell or an immediate family member is feeling unwell, they are required to stay home to avoid passing it to others.
  • Reminding staff of personal hygiene practices including washing hands properly and frequently and to avoid touching their face.
  • Reminder to regularly wipe down and sanitize workstations.
  • Encouragement to live a healthy lifestyle (proper diet, exercise, etc.) to maintain a strong immune system.
  • Informing them they are to consult a doctor if experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms and seek medical care if required.

4. What amenities remain open at the Resort?
All amenities at the Resort are available for guest use with consideration to, and in adherence with, BCCDC Guidelines and procedures. To view our full list of amenities, please click here. 5. What are the cancellation policies?
We understand the day-to-day uncertainties surrounding travel. We have adjusted our cancellation policy to a shorter window with 48 hours required. Same day cancellations, early check-in and late check-out requests will be reviewed on a case to case basis and will take into consideration the occupancy levels.

6. How can you protect yourself?
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw used tissues in a lined trash can; immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains 60 to 95% alcohol, covering all surfaces of your hands and rubbing them together until they feel dry. Clean your hands often. Keep a safe 6-foot distance from people outside of your usual ‘circle’.
