With the many uncertainties surrounding COVID-19 we want our guests to be assured we are closely monitoring the BC Centre for Disease Control, the Ministry of Health, Provincial Health Officer, and the World Health Organization’s statements, and are following recommendations and regulations set forth from each of these agencies.

As we welcome travelers, we understand the importance and peace of mind each of our guests need to feel during these times. We can promise you as a valued guest, your safety and security is our highest priority.

1. What protective or preventative measures are in place at the Penticton Lakeside Resort & Conference Centre for guests?
The Resort has increased precautionary measures including the following:

  • Heightened sanitizing attention and frequency to common areas and high touch point areas including; key cards, public area computers, elevator doors and buttons, all door and patio handles, locks and latches, light switches, desk surfaces, telephones, bathroom fixtures, and all other areas that may come into direct human contact.
  • All guests and staff are required to wear facemasks in common areas. In restaurants, facemasks may be removed when seated for eating and drinking.
  • To ensure the health and safety of our guests and staff, at this time, in-room cleaning services are limited. Our staff is happy to replenish any in-room amenities you may require during your stay. Simply dial ‘0’ at any time while visiting and our staff will place your items directly outside of your door or remove any unwanted items or refuge.
  • Hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the resort.
  • Implemented social distance measures at check-in, for room-service delivery, and throughout the resort.
  • The use of products from EnviroOx, a combined sanitizer and virucide that kills 99.99% of surface bacteria and viruses.
  • Resort management is keeping apprised of the developing situation (including monitoring notices from WHO, the CDC, the BCCDC, and the Provincial Health Officer) and providing regular updates and policy revisions to all staff.
  • Reminder signage in all restrooms and back-of-house departments sharing instructions to wash hands frequently and of other personal hygiene best practices.

2. Are facemasks required at the Resort?

  • In accordance with the most recent health order, facemasks are now required for everyone in all public common areas and workplaces.
  • People who cannot put on or remove a mask on their own are exempt.
  • Masks for children age 2 and under are not recommended.

3. What protective or preventative measures are in place at the Penticton Lakeside Resort & Conference Centre for staff?

  • If feeling unwell or an immediate family member is feeling unwell, they are required to stay home to avoid passing it to others.
  • Reminding staff of personal hygiene practices including washing hands properly and frequently, and to avoid touching their face.
  • Reminder to regularly wipe down and sanitize workstations.
  • Encouragement to live a healthy lifestyle (proper diet, exercise, etc.) to maintain a strong immune system.
  • Informing them they are to consult a doctor if experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms and seek medical care if required.

4. What amenities remain open at the Resort?

5. What are the cancellation policies?
We understand the day-to-day uncertainties surrounding travel. Depending on the season and occupancy, our cancellation policy ranges from 48 hours to 7 days advance notice. Same day cancellations, early check-in, and late check-out requests will be reviewed on a case-to-case basis and will take into consideration the occupancy levels and current COVID-19 restrictions.

6. How can you protect yourself?
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw used tissues in a lined trash can; immediately wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains 60 to 95% alcohol, covering all surfaces of your hands and rubbing them together until they feel dry. Clean your hands often. Keep a safe 6-foot distance from people outside of your usual ‘circle’.
