REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE
- Notepads and pens are available upon request
- For multi-day meetings with the same company or client, if unspoiled and clean, linens are reused when possible
- Eco-friendly cleaning products are used throughout the resort
- Bike racks available on site
- Recycling bins provided in each meeting room
- Recycling of cooking oils
- Recycling of aluminum, metal, old computers, and electronics
- Recycling of glass, bottles, and milk cartons
- Single-use plastic cups, plates and utensils are only provided upon request
- Disposables are made from 100% recycled materials when possible
- Non paper processes such as electronic sales software, programs and websites are used by our in-house sales team. Paper use is mitigated by double-sided printing and the recycling of all ink cartridges
- Proper disposal of old material as well as the use of EnergyStar equipment is followed and used by our audio-visual provider, SW Event Technology
- Gently used soaps re recycled and sent globally to those who lack access to such items
ENERGY
- Our geothermal system uses natural sources of power to heat and cool our resort
- Computer activated Heat/AC at check-in/check-out
- Irrigation is drawn from our well water
- LED lighting is installed throughout the resort
- Energy consumption is mitigated by keeping lights off and maintaining lower room temperatures in spaces that are not in use
- Curtains and blinds are kept closed and shut to minimize heat and air conditioning loss in the summer and winter months
- Tesla and electric-charging stations are available on-site for guests
- Our Go Green program offers hotel guests the opportunity to forego daily housekeeping services in exchange for an Food and Beverage credit that can be used at any of our three on-site restaurant venues
FOOD & BEVERAGE
- Produce is provided seasonally by our resort’s very own, Valley View Farm, practising natural farming and agroecology, a stone’s throw from the resort
- Garnishes and produce are picked seasonally from our resort’s on-site, natural herb garden
- Products are always locally sourced based on availability and seasonality
- Stocks are designed and created from scratch
- Vegetarian and vegan offerings are always available
- Vivreau water, (sustainable on-site water bottling program) is provided rather than individual water bottles
- On-site composting at the resort which supplies potent nutrients for our Valley View Farm
- The scrupulous recording and forecasting of food quantities endeavours to mitigate waste
- Alternative options are provided, when possible, for individually packaged food and beverage items
- Used oil is converted into biodiesel fuel
